Tips to Improve Your Grinding and Leveling
Below are some of the methods that can potentially improve the efficiency of your grinding in any MMORPG. Some of the methods that I have used myself, and some I think are more for thoughts only. You should carefully weigh the different methods that I discuss and use the one that suits your needs the best.

1. Efficiency and EXP Rate/Hr
This is one of the most important aspects of grinding. You need to grind at the spot that is the most efficient for your character and build. Continuously improve your character and gears to increase that EXP rate/hr.

2. Minimize Your Interruptions
Make sure that you take care of real life’s business first (or ignore them all together to achieve the most leveling time). Shower, brush, do dishes, taking care of the dog, you name it. You should lower your interruption while grinding in game. You can achieve the best EXP ratio only if you can grind without any interruptions. Being interrupted may lead you to in-game death or you may have to run from safe spots to leveling spots consistently.

3. Communicate with Family and Friends
Let your family and friends know how important the grinding is to you and your game play. Make ground rule with them that they must not interrupt you or stop you while you are grinding. Do not let your little brother to stop your game play at 11:00 p.m. just because he has some problems with his girlfriend. Set the rules straight on what is important to you.

4. Caffeine and Sugar Drinks
To prevent yourself from falling asleep, you should eat or drink things with caffeine and sugar to keep yourself awake and alert. You do not want to doze off in the middle of grinding. If you die because of it you might lose a great chunk of your work. Also with caffeine in your system, you can level for an even longer period of time. You should experiment with different food and drinks to see which one works the best with the taste that works for you.

5. Outside Stimulations
Sometimes when the grinding gets too boring, you could consider watching TV and listening to other music while grinding. However, you should be careful not to be distracted completely that you watch TV instead, or get temporary distract to the point that you die in game.

6. Playing with Other People
By playing with other people you might become more alert because things are not automatic and systematic. This method should be your last resort especially if it will decrease your EXP efficiency rate. However, if you will quit grinding if you do not play with other people, you should go ahead and play with others. Some EXP is better than quitting.

7. Hotkey Setup
Setup your skills and potion hotkeys so that it requires the least thinking and work to press. You will press on those hotkeys thousands of times throughout the night. Setup those to minimize the chance of you misclicking because of fatigue. The less mistakes you make, the better grinding session you will achieve.

8. Avoid Physical Injury
Take the necessary precautions to avoid any physical injury that you might take. These injuries may include hip and wrist damage. You will start having hip pains from sitting in front of the computer for a prolonged period of time. I have experienced this a couple of times from grinding from 3:00 p.m. till 6:00 a.m. Make yourself comfortable, grab a pillow and sit up right. Get mouse pads with foam so that your wrist can be more comfortable.

9. Do Not Make Yourself Completely Comfortable
By this, I mean that do not use a laptop and start grinding on your bed. Do not bring a big pillow to your desk so you can put your head on. These steps will simply propell to fall asleep instead of grinding more. You want to achieve the most grinding time possible without stopping due to other factors outside of your control.

10. Alarm Clock
Use alarm clock when necessary. Alarm clock is a great tool for grinding purposes. You can either use it to tell you when to sleep, or to tell you when to wake up because of long session grinds. What I have done in the past is to set the alarm at 3:00 a.m. as a reminder for me to go asleep, and I set the clock again at 5:00 a.m. to wake up to continue grinding before work or school.

Final tip:
Some of the tips that I have provided may be hazardous to your health and well being. However, these are the first hand experience of a past pro grinder who has achieved high levels in almost all the games that I have played.

Grinding takes a lot of good work and time. Sometimes with all the things that real life require you to do, sacrificing some sleep may be the best way to go. You should use sound judgement when following my advices and judge the important things to you.
