Navigating the Microprocessors Maze: Intel core i3, i5, and i7

The research on this topic was hugely a headache for me. There are multiple sources with really good explanation on which microprocessor is the best.

The rule of thumb in terms of performance is Core i3 5xx Series > Core i5 6xx Series > Core i5 7xx Series > Core i7 8xx Series > Core i7 9xx Series.

However, the trend seems to be that you should chooes the best core depending on the task that you are interested in. I think for Facebook gaming, I only need to get the mid-ranged processor in the i5 range instead of the hardcore Intel i7 range. However, I think for some of the slower games, i7 might be necessary. I am going to continue my research in terms of price point and price range.

There were a bunch of processor technology mumble jumbo about hyperthreading, virtualization, and turbo boost. I seriously do not care which does what. I just want a good computer to play my games smoothly. I guess I need to do more research to find my best fit in terms of price point and range for the best performance possible.
