Currently the maximum numbers of Friends that you can have on Facebook is 5,000. In most cases it is enough because Facebook is meant for a social network thing among the people that you know. Most people do not know more than 5,000 people. Even if they do, these people are not close enough to be a part of social network.
It is a sucky limit to have considering how much you want to really own at a Facebook game by having gazillion neighbors. Although most games have neighbor limits in the hundreds, therefore your one Facebook account is enough to really handle 10 or so games fully. Assuming that for every thousands friends that you have, you should have about 20% actives who will consistently help you in your game.
