Varmints can be quite annoying during early game stage. What you can do is try to push the varmint to the edge of the village map. Leave it alive and do not kill them. Your Frontierville village will only spawn one of each Varmint at any given time.
By leaving one alive in a corner during early game stage will save you lots of energy to work on more important things.
