Lavalon Boss Guide for the Dragonica Online

Lavalon Boss Guide for the Dragonica Online

Dragonica Online is a side scroller MMORPG which offers different versions depending on your region. This Dragonica guide will discuss the complete information and guide strategy in defeating the Lavalon boss in Dragonica Online which is a huge fire lizard.

It should be noted because different regions have different versions of Dragonica. Your version might have slight alteration of the boss and this guide might not apply. You should still use your best judgement in applying this guide.

Basic Stats of Lavalon
HP: 2840810
MP: Unknown
EXP: 100,000~120,000 experience points.
Reward: Equipment of any rarity from level 40-55, weapon enhancement powder, armor enhancement powder, experience potions.
Gold or drops: None
Immunity: All debuffs
To damage the boss:
1. Direct attack by ranged characters when facing Lavalon at the very front edge of the map
2. Attack it's hand when it slams the floor with melee characters.
3. Collecting 2-3 mana bullets (Unconfirmed) from Red Dongs and Skull Clubbers that spawn. Fire off mana cannon that stuns Lavalon for approximately 50 seconds and renders it in reach of attack by your party.

Boss Attacks
Lavalon has three attacks. These attacks are used by the Lavalon boss in no particular patten. However, he does use fire breath more often than the slam attack. There is usually a 4-5 second cool down in between those attacks except for the falling boulders which is prolonged for the whole battle. To avoid taking damage, move around constantly and do not stand in one place.

There are also Red Dongs and Skull Clubbers summoned/spawned which deal low damage.

The three attack skills are discussed as follows:

1. Fire breath:
Introduction:
Huge damage attack that can one hit KO or take off 70% of your HP depending on your level, class, and defensive gears. This attack has DoT effect if you stay in its attack range. This attack is hard to dodge because it tends to target one single player.

Strategy:
You can quickly jump out of the spray when the attack lands on you. As soon as you are hit, use potions right away to bring your HP back up.

2. Slam Attack with Shockwave
Introduction:
This attack damages random areas of the map and usually results in a line. This is also a high damage attack however lesser than the Fire Breath.

Strategy:
This attack is easily avoidable. You can tell where the damage will be hit by observing the pentagrams that appear on the floor. The pentagrams will show after the arm slam. You could walk to an area without the pentagrams to avoid being hit.

3. Boulder Fall Attack
Introduction:
Molten boulders fall at random places and deal high damage. These attacks land in no particular pattern.

Strategy:
Simply move around to avoid the falling boulders.

Potion and Other Preparation
It is best for you to have at least 600 greater health potions and 600 greater mana potions and a few greater elixers before you enter. You should bring more if you only have one Acolyte in your party. You should rely on your Acolyte/Priest to do their jobs and not use too many. However do not be stingy on using them to avoid any possible deaths.

Have a few of the Phoenix Feathers around to resurrect your Acolytes when they die. Lastly, be sure to buff up your party with all available party buffs before entering.

Party Makeup
You need a full party line up of 5 members including yourself to have an easy run. You should have at least 3 party members. The level requirement for the party should be 50 plus being idealistic. Level 40+ would also do but the boss fight would be tough.

Your party should have two or at least one Acolyte/Priest, one Ranger/Hunter/Trapper/Ballista and the rest can be any class. Have one or more Acolyte/Priest is important because of their resurrection skill to avoid using the Phoneix Feathers. The healing skills are also important to keep all party members alive. In addition, having two Acolytes can ensure that one can resurrect one another when one dies.

Strategy Walkthrough
1. Offensive:
a. The Acolyte/Priest sets up sanctuary directly in front of Lavalon and spams both wide and instant healing.

b. Ranger/Ballista should set up the autoshot system. Ensure that they are in working order through out the battle. While working on that, move into the Acolyte/Priest's sanctuary to attack Lavalon directly.

c. All range classes except for the Acolyte/Priest(s) should be facing Lavalon and constantly attacking the boss.

d. Melee classes should pay attention for when Lavalon does the slam attack and attack it's hand while it uses that attack. Gather mana bullets in between and firing the cannon when possible.

While the Lavalon is stunned by the mana cannon, all party members should focus their attacks on the boss.

2. Defensive:
a. The Acolyte/Priest should set up sanctuary at the top right or left corner of the map and keep it up at ALL TIMES. Attack facing Lavalon using jump shots, air combos. In addition, use heals and resurrect party members when needed.

b. Ranger/Ballista should set up the autoshot system near the center of the map. Make sure they are in working order to damage the spawning mobs. Turn invisible and run around the map to avoid damage while looking the mana bullets from the dying mobs. Fire the cannon when possible.

c. Other party members stay near or inside the radius of sanctuary when heal is needed. Kill the mobs that have traveled to them. If mana bullets drop, let the Ranger/Ballista to pick them up while they are in invisible mode.

While the Lavalon is stunned by the mana cannon, all party members should focus their attacks on the boss.

3. Solo for Ranger/Ballista:
b. Ranger/Ballista should set up the autoshot system near the center of the map. Make sure they are in working order to damage the spawning mobs. Turn invisible and run around the map to avoid damage while looking the mana bullets from the dying mobs. Fire the cannon when possible. Focus all its attack on the boss while Avalon is stunned.

Other Things to Consider
1. You can only enter Avalon dungeon by completing the quest "Dr. Farrel's Diary" and have the key in your possession.

2. You CAN reenter the dungeon if you party with someone who has the key. The one who has the key should be the party leader upon entering the mission.

3.Mana bullets tend to have a low drop rate, however the almost 1-minute stun is great enough to offset the low drop rate. A good team can deal roughly 20% of Avalon's HP per cannon firing.
