Ether Saga Online (ESO) - Classes Overview

Ether Saga Online is a online MMORPG game from Perfect World.  This online MMORPG guide will describe the 5 different weapons (classes) available to players and briefly go over the builds that players can follow.  This guide will briefly explain the type of elemental affinities that each class falls under and give a beginner's guide on where to put points into.  In this game, players can choose from 5 different elemental affinities while leveling their characters.

However, to be effective in your character building, you should only only max out 2 of the affinity,  if you put more then 2,  your character will most likely fall under mediocre categories in terms of damage output and defense.

1. RANGER

Ranger is a Ranged attacker that can debuff opponent.  Ranger gets 3 AoE skills plus great self cast, party buff and passive Buff.  Rangers can also Summon.

Skill Elemental Affinity

Rangers use 2 elements Unda and Widu
Most of ranger's attack skills Are UNDA type skills including the AOE skill.
Most of the  debuff skill wich are Widu type skills and have a long cool down time.  However, rangers only have 2 Widu attack skill and 1 widu Aoe skill.  All other skill are Curse, buff, self cast buff ,party buff and passive buff.

Unda/Widu:   Basic Build

Unda is the must have affinity for ranger since the highest DPS and AOE skills are Unda. While Widu give the dodge and magic resist you need to survive a bit longer.

Unda/Pyro:  Offensive Build

Unda is the must have affinity for ranger since the highest DPS and AOE skills are Unda.  However, Pyro is added to provide extra int for damage output.

Widu/Erda: Defensive Build

In this defensive build ethyr skills would be continuously used.  This build is not commonly used because Ranger is mostly a DPS class.

2. Mystic

Defensive spellcaster that can heal and cast defensive buffs. 

Skill Elemental Affinity

Most of your skills are Unda affinity.

Unda/Pyra: Basic Build

Unda is the main affinity for Mystic since most of the mystic skills are Unda. Pyra is added to provide extra int.

Unda/Erda: Defensive Support Build

Unda is the main affinity for Mystic since most of the mystic skills are Unda. Erda is chosen because of the additional defense point.

3. Conjurer

Offensive Spellcaster with strong casting abilities to kill enemies.

Skill Elemental Affinity

Conjureres have pyra as his main affinity, which 2 of the spells uses this affinity. Unda is his second main affinity and 3 of the spells will use this element which are the strongest spells.

Unda/Pyra: Basic Build

Unda is the main affinity for Conjurers since all the conjurer skills fall into these two categories. Pyra is added to provide extra int.  And Unda is added for extra int.

Unda/Erda: Defensive Attack Build

Unda is the main affinity for Conjurers since the strongest of the Conjurers skills fall into Unda. Erda is chosen because of the additional defense point.

4. Dragoon

Dragoon is one of the most defensive classes in the game and deemed the primary tanker.  It uses melee attacks that deal out damage in close combat. As a tank class, they could endure alot of damage making them a valuable asset in any party.

Skill Elemental Affinity

Dragoon uses Erda as the primary affinity because it is the only stat that gives you an increae to Defense and most of the Dragoon's skills are Erda types skills.

Erda/Unda: Full Tank Build

This build will maximize the tanking capabilties.  The extra Unda gives you an additional 20 HP per point which would further improve the tanking ability of the Dragoon class.

Erda/Oora: Damage Dealer

This build will maximize the fighting capabilities  The extra Oora gives you an extra 3 strength per point and thus increases your damage output.

Erda/Oora/Unda: Hybrid Build

After your Erda has been maxed.  You could play around with your left over points to go into either Unda orOora.

5. Rogue

Rogue classes are one that can go invisible and sneak hits onto enemies.

Skill Elemental Affinity

Rogue uses Oora as the primary affinity because most of its skills are Oora type skills.

Oora/Unda: More HP Build

This build will improve your survival capabilties.  The extra Unda gives you an additional 20 HP per point which would further improve the tanking ability of the Dragoon class.

Oora/Pyra: Damage Dealer

This build will maximize the fighting capabilities  The extra Pyra can increases your damage output.


Oora/Erda:  More Defense Build
This build would provide you with additional defenses to take more hits.

6. Shamen
Shamans are an offensive support class that could debuff enemies.  However, in Ether Saga Online, Shamans can also be used as secondary tanks.

Skill Elemental Affinity

Shamans uses Widu as the primary affinity because most of its skills are Oora type skills.

Widu/Erda: More Defense Build
This build would provide you with additional defenses to take more hits.

Widu/Unda: This build will improve your tanking capabilties.  The extra Unda gives you an additional 20 HP per point which would further improve the tanking ability of the Dragoon class.
